CBS is about to learn that what Oprah giveth, Oprah taketh away. For years CBS, which owns the syndication rights to her show, has been able to count on the queen of daytime television to fill more than just her afternoon slot. In addition to bringing the company hundreds of millions in revenue, Oprah Winfrey has provided a powerful boost to CBS' TV syndication arm, establishing leverage with advertisers and creating a number of successful spinoffs.  

Learning Sciences Corp., about 18 months old, has signed The Fox Network Group, NBC Universal, the Sports Production Safety Group, the HEI hotel management company, PCS Nitrogen in Geismar and Louisiana state government agencies, says Chief Executive Officer Peter J. Ranzino. The firm has created two programs for Fox. One explains hearing safety practices required by OSHA. The other teaches office ergonomics.

The next H1N1 clinic to open in Oconee County will take place at Westminster Baptist Church, 212 East Windsor St., from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 24; and Shaver Recreational Complex, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2.

Students barricaded themselves inside buildings on University of California campuses at Berkeley and Santa Cruz Friday to protest a 32 percent increase in student fees and budget cuts that have led to slashed programs and lost jobs. UC Berkeley spokesman Dan Mogulof told CBS station KPIX-TV on Friday evening that more than 40 people occupying Wheeler Hall, at least some of them students, had been arrested and the protest there appeared to be coming to a "safe end." Those demonstrators were being cited

The most watched show on all of television is the late Sunday afternoon doubleheader game on Fox and CBS, which is averaging 23.9 million viewers, up 8 percent from last year. The No. 1 show in prime time is NBC's Sunday Night Football (19.8 million viewers, up 22 percent). The No. 1 show on cable is ESPN's Monday Night Football (14.2 million viewers, up 15 percent).  

The Good Wife Season 1 Episode 9 Threesome airs Tuesday November 24 at 10/9c on CBS. Alicia deals with tricky office politics when she's asked to represent the firm's senior partner after he's arrested. Meanwhile, Peter's evidentiary hearing hits the skids, leading Alicia to suspect that he may, in fact, actually be guilty of corruption, on THE GOOD WIFE, Tuesday, Nov. 24 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
